This tool combines the features of the compensated density tool, which measures density by Compton scattering cross section of gamma rays, and the lithology effect by measuring the low gamma-ray energies associated with the photoelectric absorption cross-section. This lithology recognition is further enhanced by borehole compensation of the photoelectric gamma response.
