DIL. An induction log consisting of two induction curves representing electrical conductivity measurements taken at different depths of investigation. Usually run in conjunction with a focused resistivity device with a shallow depth of investigation, such as a shallow laterolog or guard log. See also induction log. DIL is a mark of Schlumberger.
