terms:gravel_packing
A method of well completion in which a slotted or perforated liner is placed in the well and surrounded by small-sized gravel. The well is enlarged by underreaming at the point where the gravel is packed. The mass of gravel prevents sand from flowing into the well but allows continuous rapid production.
