(1) On a well log, it is the recorded point on a curve at which the curve begins to vary in response to variations in the wellbore environment. (2) During the survey operation, it is the depth at which the logging tool lifts off the bottom of the borehole. Signified by curve movement and increase in cable tension as shown on the weight indicator.
