The dimensionless van Everdingen Hurst skin factor which accounts for the additional pressure drop assumed to occur at the wellbore face as a result of wellbore damage, formation damage, or stimulation. The skin factor can be positive when the pressure drop has been increased by damage; or negative, when improvement in fluid flow results from stimulation. See also skin effect part (2).
