Reviewing and Improving Entries
Review Recent Changes
- The “Recent changes” button shows all changes to the entire wiki. Click the link to see the page.
- When on any page, the “Old revisions” button will list all of the saved versions of the page.
- Click the eyeglasses icon to compare that version with the previous version.
- Use the “Show page” button to return to the entry.
Delete a Page If Necessary
(You could test this in the playground.)
To completely delete a page:
1. Navigate to the page.
2. Open it for editing.
3. Delete all of the text in the editing page.
4. Save the page.
Explore the Index
If you press the Index button, you will see a list called “namespaces.”
- The English namespace is “terms.”
- Pages in other languages appear under the language abbreviation.
- All pages are listed by “page name.” A page name is different than the title of the “entry,” and does not change even if the title of the entry is edited.
- Pages are not immediately added to the index–a 24-hour delay allows community members to review the Recent Changes before being added to the index.
Other Ways to Improve the Wiki
- Create links to other wiki terms when used in the text of a definition. For example:
“Instructions on basic editing are on the start page. You may also want to review wiki syntax.”
- Create index pages for a target language to add “alphabetical” indexes similar to the English indexes.
